Breda Nassaustad

Historie

Breda is the largest of the so called "Nassau towns" and one of the two Dutch towns which carries this title together with Leeuwarden.

Breda is indebted to the Nassau Dynasty for many of the developments that led to Breda evolving into the large and important town it became.

In the period between 1404 and 1566, the Nassau's gave Breda a first push to prosperity and there are many reminders of them to be found in and around the city. The Breda Nassaustad Foundation has developing wider public awareness of this heritage as its main objective.
